17th Annual Tri-University Graduate Student Conference

Stock photo of a GlobeThe University of Miami is pleased to announce that the 17thannual Tri-University Graduate Student Conference will be held at the Shalala Student Center (Coral Gables Campus) on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019. The Tri-University Conference is a collaborative tradition of The University of Miami Latin American Studies Program/University of Miami Institute for Advanced Study of the Americas (UMIA), the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center at Florida International University, and the Caribbean & Latin American Studies Program at Florida Atlantic University.

We invite original graduate-student authored papers representing a variety of disciplines and topics, including (but not limited to) the following: Anthropology, Communications, Cultural Studies, Environmental Science, History, International Relations, Literature, Political Science, Public Health, and Sociology. Papers may be proposed using the form below.

Abstracts are not to exceed 250 words, and presented papers will be 20 minutes in length. While abstracts are to be provided in English, final papers can be presented in English, French, Kreyol, Portuguese, or Spanish. Submissions will be accepted until February 1st, 2019, and applicants will be notified of selection by February 15th, 2019.

Final paper submissions should not exceed 10 pages. In order for applicants to be considered for the paper prize, papers should be submitted no later than March 1st, 2019.
